Carrying mags on leg for T8

I am not sold on vest rigs. Is anyone using the Tiberius leg rig for the 3 mag holder? If so, what do you think about it? Any other rigs that fit the t8 mags that you like?

My two cents on the topic.

I, like you, find vests to be excessive. A big bulky vest defeats the point of running with a small, light pistol.

Leg holders are ok. Definitely smaller than a vest. But so far I haven't found any that hold in place well. Three mags is just a little too much weight on your leg in my opinion. We've used both the Tiberius leg holder and the Spec Ops leg holder and both flopped and moved around a lot. 1 pound on your leg equals 5 on your back because that weight moves around so much more with every step.

With vests being excessive and leg holders being cumbersome, the guys on Team FEAR and I came up with the P3 pack. It's a speedball style pack designed to hold 6 Tiberius magazines and 12 tubes of paint, a full load out. It also has an integrated dump pouch for quick reloads and is compatible with some holsters. My old Spec Ops universal vest holster slides right on the pack.

We had them custom made by Extreme Stitchworks (Special Ops Paintball's soft goods). I think they run about $55 each individually.

There's a quasi-preorder thread in this section.

I currently carry a leg drop holster and a 3-mag on the other leg. Honestly, it's kind of a PITA and I'm considering dumping it for a P3 (for primary use) and a 2+1 shoulder rig for backup use. I find leg drops weigh down your pants, and inhibit some crawling/crouching/sliding by having extra crap hanging off your legs.

I hate anything remotely heavy attached to the sides of my legs. I feel I just can't run like I want to with it being there. Also I can't baseball slide with stuff on my legs. I prefer to use a BT Merc vest with the molle attachements on my stomach.

I use the 3-magazine leg pouch from Tiberius Arms as well. It is okay, not great, but okay. I also use a dump pouch. If I am just going out with my Tiberius Arm pistol, then I am just wearing a combat pistol belt, the holster, magazine pouch and dump pouch. Much lighter than my normal full tactical loadout. Now, I do not slide into bunkers much, so I do not have that issue, but I can see where the leg pouch would be a problem. I guess if you do a lot of sliding, then a vest configuration would be better.

Hope this helps.

The Tiberius and it's magazines are big and bulky and heavy...there's no getting around that. When I want to go with a lightweight set-up, I pull out my PGP. Even carrying 150 rounds in a Joyride pack it's light and nimble.

I recently purchased a lightweight load bearing vest and so far it seems to fit the bill for carrying around 6 Tiberius magazines and 12 extra tubes of paint. I did a review of the vest with pictures;

USGI FLC Molle vest with pouches

I don't like the typical heavy molle vests so I was looking for something that wouldn't be as bulky and heavy and hot. If you don't care about color and there are pouches you would rather buy, they sell this vest new, in 3 color desert camo, on eBay for about $17 shipped with no pouches.
