Tac 8 wont fire....

OK....new tac 8...took it apart to clean it....it shot before I took it apart.....shot just fine.....

I reassembled......with the bolt pushed forward.....it still will not fire....

Any idea?

Are the trigger bits set up correctly? When you reassembled it with the bolt forward, did you push it back ('til it clicks) before you reinstalled the spring and barrel?

does it make any noise when you put a mag in and did you disassemble the reg at all?

Stonedog 05-11-2010 09:38 PM

I did not disassemble the reg.

It does kinda make a "fart" noise when I put in the mag....

Also....I have not pushed it back until it "clicked" or at least I don't think I have.....I got frustrated and put it away to think about it a bit....

What did you take apart exactly?

Stonedog 05-11-2010 10:24 PM

Everything EXCEPT the trigger group/reg.....

I did pull the back block off took it apart and cleaned and oil what needed to be done...

WidowMaker 05-11-2010 10:26 PM

make sure everything in the back block is threaded all the way in... I have found in some cases that if parts aren't all the way in that it will alter the internal air volume which does not give it enough pressure to recock properly...

The most common problem is seating the front bolt all the way back against the power tube before you instal it. Make sure that you leave it about a quarter inch in front of the power tube when you screw the regulator block to the aluminum reciever. Once that's done THEN put your spring and barrel in. You should hear a click as the bolt slides past the sear if you did it correctly.

Push the bolt back. That should solve your problem.

Got it fixed! THANKS!
