Looks like it might be a reality: Rifled Sniper Barrel I hadn't heard any kind of release date from LAPCO or Tiberius for this thing, but here it is. Thoughts? |

The rounds are already rifled, why rifle the barrel as well? The only thing would be if the rifling matched the number of fins and pitch to get the round spinning earlier. Increase accuracy slightly (maybe) and decrease range slightly (also maybe)

The rifling works really well and improves the performance of the First Strike rounds. The barrel was designed and manufactured as a joint venture between LAPCO and Tiberius Arms. Folks who made it to Decay of Nations 2010 and participated in the Tiberius Arms Sniper contest, got to shoot a 9.1 Elite with the prototype barrel. The temperature was against us, so we could only get the FPS to 265 without the overpressure valve spewing. Even at 265, and 5 degree elevation, I was able to reach out past the 350 feet mark.

Of course basic punctuation and spelling would help too.

Don't know what is a Tiberius arms APR is. Don't know what job u r talking about. You can't buy the barrel by it's self. No 699.95 is not a type-o It's called a 9.1 sniper package, I was told about this last march they just finished it last week Tuesday. I buy mine then they ship it out thrusday and it was due to be delivered yesterday. A big snow storm hit us and now I'm waiting for it to get here. The guys at Tiberius said that the barrel did better then they thought it would that the rifling helped more than they expected on accuracy and distance, look forward to testing it out. Will post more when I know more. |
