If boring the t8 with stanchy, do I just need the insert sleeves from freak? No other adapter for the insert necessary? I think I saw someone post freak inserts are under 6 inches. I wonder how they are inserted with those double detents in the barrel

Stanchy chops off the tip of the barrel then bores from the front, then rethreads the tip of the barrel to become a cap to hold the inserts in. You lose something like 1/2" of length because of the threading operation but it's worth it for the ability to size your paint. The other thing is you can pick up stock T9 barrels that are longer and send those to him instead to be cut to your desired length.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I would be interested in doing something like this to my t8 which I just picked up for custom work but super_starchy's pm box is full. Is there another way to contact him or is there anyone who does good work like his?

Stanchy is MIA right now.The freak boring you are talking about is something he could do.I have tried to get him to but there is alot of work and time involved. The best you can do is get a lapco .686 barrel(smallest bore made)I currently have one for sale .Interested ??Pm me

Actually I found stanchy on facebook and he replied to all of my messages.......Ive noticed allot of people have been having problems getting in touch with him but he replied within 24hours of me sending him a message. He said he doesn't do the freak boring anymore and he doesn't know any machine shops/people who would. Thanks for the offer but Iam not sure what I want to do for the barrel yet. If I decide that I want to go with a lapco barrel I will PM you. Thank you for the help and input
