Its still just an idea. Give me a day or two to iron it out and sketch something up. Ill scan it in and we can debate it.

Mmmkai, im glad that this thread got some attention. I'll add some more after I eat dinner, but for now:

The pin connected to the sear is the effect we need to replicate here, I guess. Dunno how or what Echo has in mind. For those that haven't seen how a mag works compared to a Tib, they're pretty similar.

Stop firing when the triggers released or does it need to empty the 12 gram first? Basically, is it a run away gun or a controllable fully auto pistol?

Stop firing when released. Runaways= No good for people on either side of the marker.

lol runaway full auto is a sure way to get kicked off the field for good. And what a waste. You get one burst then have to reload an extended mag which is not a simple task lol.

Alright, using the part numbers from Smith's picture . . . ;

. . . I've drawn this to help illustrate my idea;

Basically what I think needs to be done to achieve a full auto type effect while still being able to feed properly as well as not have a run away is to get some form of responsive trigger. To do that, my idea is to modify parts 4 and 5. The technical names, I think, are the sear rotator (part 4) and rotator release (5).

When the gun is completely stock, part 5 is activated by the bolts rearward movement. The curved, sloped sides on parts 4 and 5 match each other, and as part 5 moves backward, it pushes part 4 out. This disengages part 4 from the sear and the sear is then free to spring up and catch the bolt. You then need to release the trigger, allowing part 4 to swing upward and click back into the sear. You are then ready to fire again.

[More to come, I have class]
[Edit]

To get the RT effect, I'm thinking of preventing the rotator release (part 5) from removing the trigger rotator (part 4) from the sear. If the sloped sections of 4 and 5 are milled to be flat relative to each other, part 5 will not push part 4 out away from the sear. In fact, if the two cuts are made angled like I show, it should be possible to get the rotator release to force the rotator to push the sear back up and catch the bolt. In the meantime, the trigger would be forced back forward. Continued pressure on the trigger would trip the sear, and the cycle begins again;

-Bolt is released, sear is down
-Bolt returns, contacts and pushes part 5 backward
-Part five contacts the milled face on part 4, forces it and the sear back up
-Bolt is caught, and there is potentially enough time for the dump chamber to recharge and a ball to feed upward before;
-Continued pressure on the trigger starts the process again

That's what I was wondering. I would think that removing or modifying that piece would cause it to malfunction and not stop firing until it was out of gas. I wouldn't want a gun like that on a field with me, or near me period for that matter.

Keep it safe boys. Don't shoot your eye out.

Yessir. I feel the same way.

This thread is plauged by school work. I'd be adding more to it but I have two major tests coming up and my average is slipping. Combine that with other stuff and I don't feel like putting time into this. I know Echo is a busy guy as well.

SO. Echo it took me quite a while to realize what you were trying to do there. I actually had to get the pieces out of the T8 and look at em, while moving them. To me it all makes sense, but wouldn't we need something linking the release and the rotator/sear? Correct me if I'm wrong. [EDIT: No wait, I am wrong. That would make it a runaway full auto.]

Im going to be making an order from Rockstar soon. If you don't want to sacrifice your parts, I don't mind. Someone needs to test this though! :guns firing: Also, thanks for your time dude. I feel like something will actually come out of this. Solid idea.
