ok wasnt sure if you had seen that point. I wonder just how much you could save buying the 9.1 body and everything versus buying a 9.1 Ranger new?

If you got tired of pistol this might be the cheap way to go, but otherwise I don't see much benefit in doing it

Well, a Ranger new here costs $384 my parts list is less than $150 so I'd need to get ~$235 for my pistol which is more than it sells for new. I'd get a shroud and stock with the new gun, those I'd put in a box in the basement forever. I've also polished my bolt assembly already. Not much incentive to buy new.

I am considering as an alternative a ghetto rigged crutch style stock with an HPA bottle attached via the remote kit. Advantages: versatility, less money. Disadvantages: more work, nowhere near as tacticool.

Oh ya, I've got a pair of T8s as well. No shortage of pistols around here.

Why do people buy autocockers? For the the gits and shiggles. plus when you already have around $300-400 dollars invested in mags and such switch brands is kinda hard to justify.

The FXR isn't a standalone marker, it is a shroud that goes around the T8.1 or the TiPX pistol to give it a stock and some rail options. Apparently it will also support a tank-in-stock, but details of that remain to be seen.

The 8.1 barrel will only work in mag feed mode when used on a 9.1 so if you want to use a hopper you would need to get the 9.1 barrel.

Thanks for the reply Justin. I only run mags and since I'm up here in the great white North HPA is becoming rapidly more appealing. I'm still weighing the advantages of this vs remote. Let me know if you see anything else I'm overlooking.
