So I learned a few things today, the first being that I still hate machining tiny parts on a manual mill with a large vise. If I make a small run of these I'll be sure to go fixture crazy to make the machining process quicker and easier. The second being that the design does work and it looks pretty good to. The only issue I ran into was the machining on the T8.1 body itself, there tends to be a small burr/lip that hangs over and down into the dovetail cuts. This burr, while perfectly fine with the factory plastic sights because the plastic gives alittle, causes some fitting issues with machined aluminum sights. It was a quick fix with a small needle file to remove the burr, but an issue none the less.

Here's some photo's, the image quality is pretty poor but I'll try and get some better photo's tomorrow in natural light. That will show the detail and fiber optic illumination much better.

Because you have some kind of claim to the invention of fiber optic sights? Why don't you just get out of this guy's thread already? Really shows your level of professionalism

Ok big boss. There's always someone who has gotta try and say something profound and mature.
I never once laid claim to the design there buddy. Just a little consideration aye. Your all praise whilst the guy has something to offer.
This kind of attitude shows your colours bud.

No skin off my nose. Nice idea, nice design.

Basically what you just implied is that's its kool and ok to be a douche.

When someone starts posting links to their own "product" in another machinist's thread and then tacitly implying that he somehow stole something from them, I consider that pretty douchey too. If that wasn't what you were doing I'll be more than glad to apologize but it sure came across that way to me.

Here's some better photos of the sights in natural light.

Just to gauge interest, who'd be interested in a set for around $75 to $100 in matching black ano with the fiber optic sights in either red, green or yellow?

To Fixxxer, it seems that what you stated earlier just came off in the wrong way, regardless though, I have no desire to copy your work and it just so happens that the rear sights look similar. My design process was essentially just extending the profile of the factory rear sight and slotting it similar to what I've done in the past with compensators.

Back on topic... photos...

How is it someone clones your idea you point out the similarities between your product and this "original" product and he's the douch? If it were something where dude had taken the original idea and added or run with it and developed a supperior product or something along those lines you MIGHT have a case but it's not. It's a direct clone.
