Any interest in a brass compensator?

Well?

May have a source for them wondering if there is enough interest to warrant picking them up as it would drain me financially till they sold...

And for those interested, what would be a fair price for said compensators?

Thanks kiddos!

I'd buy one, but I have no idea on price though. Not sure how easy working with brass is

Well that is the question isn't it?

Brass isn't THAT much harder to work on compared to aluminum, I just figured that since there were enough aluminum compensators out there that people may want another option.

But I'm not sure if they would sell for enough to make it worth it.

Do you think many people would be interested if they were in the $65-$75 range? Would you?

Thanks for the input

I don't think you're going to get them in the $65-$75 dollar range without taking a hit or making very little. Your material cost alone would probably eat way half your projected budget and that's just for a short compensator similar to what Killjoy offers. If it were me, I'd have a minimum price of probably around $150 for a short brass compensator.

If you wanted something similar to brass, I'd polish an aluminum compensator and send it out to be anodized in a closely matching color, then you don't have to worry about the brass becoming dull/patina'd over time. And you're wallet will thank you.

I really don't see how a compensator could be made to look good (as in, still have detailed and interesting milling) and be made out of brass for $65-75. Brass is stupid expensive these days, last time I looked for a chunk big enough to do a K-frame variant for my DRV, it was something near $300.

Just a quick look at McMaster (not the cheapest source, but it has the easiest site for looking this stuff up) and guesstimating sizing, a one-foot section of 2"x1.5" brass bar would be $142 before shipping. Assuming you could actually squeeze 3 whole compensators from that, it's about $50 in materials alone. And since I don't have a Tib handy to measure, you may need a wider/thicker piece that's even more expensive.

I think it's a great idea, but it's not something you're going to be able to sell on the cheap and in large numbers. Not by a long shot.

I'd probable just take a regular compensator and powder coat it a Brass color.
