Short T9.1 barrel better than a t8.1 barrel

Been playing more often with my t8.1 and Ive fallen in love. I recently figured I'd try my hand at first strike rounds. My question is would running a t9.1 barrel that is longer with some rain cover to look like a mock suppressor make any substantial difference over a t8.1 barrel? I've been looking into the lapco FSR barrel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The only difference between the 8.1 and 9.1 barrels is the provision of a hopper feed port and guide pin slot. So no, there's no performance difference unless you use a hopper. Mock suppressors are merely cosmetic, once again no performance gain.

I'm sorry I was unclear. I was just referring to the length difference haha

There's a discussion you might find useful here: Optimal Barrel Length for FSR

If you're talking about regular paintballs there have been a variety of tests conducted and while slight variances were observed between marker/valve designs AFAIK a stepped bore barrel with a combined length of eleven to fourteen inches and a control bore somewhere around nine inches was the ticket.

Just order the 8.5" Hammerhead barrel. I run it on my T8.1 and T9.1.

With that barrel I made a 250' headshot using the T8.1 with pistol sights on the 2nd shot! LOL the Hammerhead is also more efficient than the Lapco.

Other than a rifled barrel, you wouldn't notice any accuracy increase between the stock T8.1 and the 1" extra on the T9.1. Any Raincovers or muzzles are overbored and do not provide any extra usable barrel length.
