| 68Special liquid line I have a beater 68Special that is leaking from the plastic line between the rear ASA and the valve. What can I use to replace it? I will take a guess and say that the later Tippmanns eliminated this line. The line looks like some hard vacuum lines that I have found in cars, but I haven't been able to check on this idea yet. Thanks in advance! |

| The Tippmann 68 special, SMG 60, and SMG 68 all use the same line of which you speak. THey are not too easy to come by. Before you condem the line however, check to be shure that the connection at the vlave is tight. Also tighten the "screw" inside the ASA. Im shure you could source a replacement if you look hard enough, but its going to need to be rated for 1800psi working pressure at least. |

| 1800? Thanks for the tip. As for where the leak is coming from, there is a hole in the line right around where the sear is. After I've made this post, I have found out that Macroline has been used by some people. So I'll look into this also.

| i bought 50 feet of the line, and 50 fittings, with the intent to pre package kits and sell them for $8 shipped, i havent play tested the line that im using, but my SMG68 ran through a 20oz fine in the shop, no leaks and the line didnt blow, i let the gun sit muzzle down for an hour too so it got liquid into the line to see if that popped it, and it held fine. side note: its actually a common misconception that the SMG series needs to run liquid to function properly, they only do in cold weather, they run fine with gas in decently warm weather. the whole "i need a siphon tank" is for the 68 special, because of the powertube assembly not being very effcient at redirecting the gasses, and the added friction of the bolt moving, the 68 special series did not cycle or get enough velocity on gas co2, thusly requiring the siphon to function correctly. i actually have tuned a 68 special to run on gas, and it works fine, but it takes alot of work, i also made a new receiver tube for it, since the old ones cocking slots are so damn long, you lose all of the pressure behind the hammer only 1/2" back from the valve, probably meant that way since liquid co2 has so much of a higher kick to it but for gas its not needed. |
