Very nice. I hope to do this to the one smg60 I have. I'd buy a new indexer from you if you make them.

You're still going to have issues with the receiver cracking in the back where the receiver cap screws in because its not as thick as the smg68 or 68 specials. I believe that if you'd run a weaver rail across the top to tie it together, it would provide additional strength.

Is it the capability people are after? Full auto FS capable?

Looks like the best solution coming for the full auto first strike capable is a Phenom with the RAP4 mag conversion kit. Will it be perfect? Probably not. Will it be a workable solution with minimal modification? Likely.

The "fun" factor of a marker with this much kick and weight?

VM-68's and trigger cranks can be found much easier

The rarity/nostalgia?

Really the only way to do that I think would be acquiring an original. I just don't see a big enough market for the custom airsmiths like Dukie to really do something like this. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Personally, I'd rather see Dukie get the DSG and or DRV into wider production.

This is an SMG-60 converted to (hopefully) shoot 68 cal paint. So far I've got the barrel and breach figured out, that's a CCI threaded barrel courtesy of Titus. The appropriate pawl has already been designed and I'll start making those as soon as I get stock. I also have plans to make a new magazine out of steel tube stock. So, whatcha think?
How did you do this...and is it feasible to do as a service?

That's the plan. Although I don't really want to work on other peoples SMG's, I'd rather buy SMG's, convert them, then sell them, repeat. I've got this one that I'll keep and one more that I will sell to get some cash and kick start the production process.

Why'd you choose (did you choose?) CCI threads? I'd have thought cocker would be the first choice, or A5 just to keep it in the tippmann family.

Im thinking about maybe making A5 threaded adapters, but cocker threading is too big. It would have left too thin of a wall thickness on the crappy pot aluminum reciever for my liking. Also, I like how the CCI barrels are straight like the original SMG barrels. I have to admit that the acme threads were a pain though.

If your doing conversions to .68 for SMG 60's, I'd be down for sending mine in to be converted.
