SL68-2 SC feed?

Hey guys, I'm getting an SL68-2 in a trade, and I was just wondering if one could lop off the feedneck and use a phantom feedblock on it. Looking at the new ones, it looks like it would work, but I want to know if it's ever been done.

Centerfeed? I imagine that's custom and not from the factory, right?
