A5 shooting low

Hi everyone

I have an A5 with flatline and e trigger for my little brother, but the A5 seem to be shooting very low, it could not get above 230.

What should I do to fix this problem?

Take it apart and oil it?

I would assume change the spring to a harder one and problem solved.

make sure you have the correct drive spring...it's possible someone took it apart and used the cocking handle spring instead of the hammer drive spring.

have you messed with the forward velocity adjuster at all? screw it out to increase velocity.

if you're using hpa, check to make sure the regulator is set to output high pressure.

there could be velocity issues if you're using a lightweight hammer (lpk, techt, ndz etc). disregard if using stock hammer.

drive spring may be worn out; replace with new spring.

take the marker apart (clamshells and all) and clean everything; make sure there is no crud jamming the movement of the bolt / hammer. when you screw the clamshells back together, do not overtighten the bolts. everything should slide easily.

check all o-rings, particularly the hammer o-ring and replace if needed.

take a good look at the power tube and make sure it's not cracked. the seam would be the most likely spot for this to happen.

Send a message via Yahoo to DarkShadowHunter

Could use a new drive spring, and/or a good cleaning.

Already mess with the velocity adjuster, so the spring and a good cleaning come next. Anyone know where I can buy springs set for cheap?

Most of the time when our rentals experience shooting low it is usually because the marker needs to be cleaned, or because the power tube was cracked. These are the first things I would check. Make sure you are cleaning it with GUN OIL and not using grease. For parts, try calling Tippmann directly, they may surprise you with parts at a low cost.

indeed, they may just send a new drive spring for free. if you want a spring set, you can get cheap ones off of ebay...i think mine was like $5 shipped for 5 springs.

If it's shooting low, aim higher! (ba-dump, PSSSH)
