Model 98 Flatline shroud sight rail size?

What is the size/measurement for the sight rail on the plastic flatline shroud on an original model 98? I have a site I'd like to put on it but need an adapter for it to work.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think its the same size as whats on the gun already which is like a 5/8 rail I think. Thats the same size as .22 rails

She told me we couldn't afford beer anymore and that I'd have to quit drinking. Then I caught her spending $65 on makeup. I asked how come I had to give up stuff and she didn't. She said she needed the makeup to look pretty for me. I told her that was what the beer was for. I don't think she's coming back...

It is the same as the .22 or "Dovetail", it's NOT Weaver or Picatinny sized.

Now aht type of convertsion piece/adapter would I need: .22/dovetail to ......?

It is not as big as a weaver. It is small like all the other pellet guns. For somereason 3/8" pops into my mind.

yup, thatd be called a 3/8 dovetail, same as the rail style ASA's and small scopes and red-dot sights. Pretty much any cheap optic will fit it.

Just go to your local sporting goods store and ask about an adapter from 3/8 to 5/8(assuming this is the size youre after).

OK so 3/8 is normal for those cheap plastic sights and the flatline sight rail should on the plastic model 98 one is 5/8?

No, the one on the 98 should be a 3/8, in fact, im 97.385% positive that it is. I dont own one, so i cant just go look, but im pretty sure its not a 5/8.

However, i have been wrong more than once...

Just get a ruler out and measure it, thatll tell you! Then you dont have to count on my unreliable intellect.
