| MCB Member Join Date: Jan 2010 | TIPX Low Velocity with HPA
I have the newer TIPX along with a Techt Bad Karma bolt. With 12grams, it shot great and up in the 290's easily. Once I hooked up the remote adapter with a 13ci tank and tried a few shots over my chrono, I couldn't get over 250-260. I looked over some threads here and didn't find anything on how people were using their TPX with a 13ci tank and still were able to stay in the higher FPS range. Any help would be great. Before anyone asks; I adjusted velocity all the way till the pressure relief valve started venting. 260 FPS was max velocity without venting.

Is your relief valve adjustable?

Crank that sucker down then. I never have a problem with my T8's relief valve, and I just lock it down on my T9. The general idea is to close off the relief valve then adjust the reg until youre shooting where you want to be. Then open the relief just until you start to hear a whisper leak and screw it back about a quarter or half turn. At least thats how it is with the Tiberius, I imagine the TPX isnt that different.

That is a good idea. I didn't think of that. I'll give that a shot.

I tried messing with it but not luck. I still don't get over 250 consistent enough to play a game with it on HPA. On the same settings with a 12gram, I get the desired speed. Has anyone else gone through this? Does anyone run their TPX on HPA?

No one runs their TPX on remote????? I havent filled the Co2 tank to see what velocity it will shoot. I know that CO2 has higher PSI than my ninja tank or my smaller tank but I want to make sure before I have ninja make me a reg with higher output. The thing that is confusing me is that the TPX runs at about 350psi. Why would any tank with higher output than that affect its velocity? I know someone out there knows!!!

I think Wickedclown on here uses his TPX with a remote. Best thing to do is call and ask Tippmann.

I just thought of something while sitting here at work. When I tried using my hpa tanks, I would throw in a dummy 12gram instead of a spent 12gram. I wonder if it's a volume issue as I assume that others running hpa must have just used a spent cartridge. The dummy 12gram has little volume and must hold very little air. I will give this a try in the morning and report back to all. This is really the only variable that I am changing.
