It is a 2 piece barrel so I can unscrew the end and just use the barrel back. yes it does work and is reasonably accurate.

Had this since new waaay back around 1992-ish has polished internals and a custom valve so no shootdown or low pressure burping

Aye, it's the same as mine. I posted a while back looking
for information. I have one just like yours, and one with
the prolite style body.

From what I have gathered, these have the early valve,
while the PL body uses the PL valve train. Tippmann at
one time would replace the valve system with the Prolite
system if you had problems.

Are you in the U.S. or Canada? What is the serial number?

I love mine.

I have a couple of those! But I am really lovin' that smg-60. I have never seen one of those in action, way cool. I NOW know what I want for my birthday!
