I apologize in advance for such the long post, but I felt someone would appreciate the story behind it all.
I have phased through tippmanns ever since I started playing PB nearly 12 years ago, and I can't say anything bad about them. I started with a 98 custom pro; that was my very first tippmann. I have had both a classic X7 and a phenom since then but I always turned back to my 98. It has had many different masks but it's still the trustworthy 98 I bought 12 years ago. Here's sort of a timeline of how it came to be the way it is now.
It started out as the basic 98 pro, which everyone knows what it looks like, and I ran that for about 10 years. I then thought it was time for a face lift; so I chopped her up
To fit her into her new suit
I then felt that this was not feeding my desire. I ended selling the carbine kit and transforming into a mag fed rifle.
This setup didn't last long either. I sold the Dmag kit, and with the some spare parts I had I started brainstorming.
I mustered up a few more parts that I had and acquired some more parts from very generous donors. Before long the 98 started to take form.
Now I have finished and this is what I will most likely keep it at; as I feel like I accomplished what I was going for. I adjusted the air line to go through the grip; although it's not pretty, it's a lot better than before. I also went with BT SA-17 magazines as the feed system. I bought several of them and modified them so that I can perform mag changes; though slightly different than other systems.

I've had the SL68 II since new back in 1997ish. Has All American barrel that I purchased at the same time as marker. A5 was a gift when I left NY from one of my soldiers.

SMIT: What is that carbine kit please, looks fantastic. I'd the silencer part of the kit?

SMIT, how did you seat the BT-SA "magazine?" Was there any modding involved, or did it all just happen to fit together on the shroud you chose? I'm trying to get a lower-profile feed system for my L96 build, but I'm having some trouble. Any advice?
When in doubt...more paint!
