On a pro-lite you would polish the power tube, the connecting rod, the hammer, the spring guide pin. All these to make for a over all smoother action, and slightly quieter mechincal operation. You can try to polish the delrin bolt as well, but I have never had much luck with this. You can try some after market hammers, there are a couple of different types out there (no longer made, will have to search for them). You can polish the trigger and sear for a smoother pull, and replace the trigger spring with a lighter one(careful with polishing the sear, I over did it once and made it full auto that would not stop, had to replace the sear).

With all that said If you went with a procarb or 68 carbine you could put a RT in it and really supprise some people.

Has anyone ever tried a prolite on a higher than 850psi tank, like a shimmed ninja or one of the SHP's?
I'm thinking if they like high pressure, which most tippy's do, than that might solve your HPA issue a bit and give you room to work with to get the trigger pull down...

Hmmm. Good info here. I'm looking for one of the angled vertical adapters to update my Prolite for my son. Anyone know where I can find one.

You just have to hunt the forums for them. I posted a WTB thread for one a couple months ago here and had a guy sell me one the same day. Also, you could just search Craigslist for a Pro-Lite/Pro-Carb that already had one. I've seen a few vert ones on there before. These guns are so cheap now that that might be easier than actually trying to find the individual adapter itself, plus you'd get another gun for parts with it.
