Interest in aftermarket aluminum Tpx shells

This thread was started to get an idea if people were interested in a upgraded tpx body. Something that would improve cosmetic and function of the tpx pistol. Make it easier to strip down and with quicker co2 changes. New detent design to work with a mag fed system and improve efficiency. A more comfortable grip shape and being able to use 45 standard grip panels. Having a choice of cocker threading or standard tpx/a5 threading. Having standard dove tail sites for attaching all the extra's easily. With the body being aluminum you will be able to anodize to your liking. We had a lot of great help from those interested and special thanks to Rick(who started it all), Jackson (who did the file conversion) and everyone else on here that helped and will help to make it happen. Here are some drawings that we have so far.

Right now I'm getting quotes to get one single unit made so we can test to see if this is even going to work. I will make a new thread when and if I get a working unit. I don't need beta testers as of right now and when I do I will handle it in the new thread. If you helped in some way you will not be forgotten. Thanks I will try to update this thread as soon as I have something to update it with.

It would be cool, but it would probably cost a lot and make the TPX heavy.

Yeah, the heaviness would come into play. The nice thing is that you'll be able to shape the exterior as you deem fit. meaning, better grips (those monster finger grooves...), rails, sight mounts....stuff like that.

Also make it a side dropout changer instead of what the TPX uses now.

I'd be in for one or two. No joke.

Bullpup.

I would be interested as long as you offered one that had nice clean lines. Think classic 1911.

For this, plus a slimmer design and the ability to anno gloss black, I would seriously consider picking up another TiPX.

I'm sure Agent Smith, myself and a few others would buy two as well.

This would improve the appeal to me for the TPX. I'm wanting to get into pistol use but am torn between the Tiberius and the TPX. The main down I see for the TPX is I really do not like the look and the chincy-ness of the clam shell. If there was an aluminum clam shell with side drop out charger the TPX would be the winner for me.
