Smg60 rva

How are people RVAing these? Just tapping the back cap and sticking a screw in there so the spring can be made more or less tense?

Thanks.

That's the general idea, but you dont get a whole lot of adjustment with just a screw. If you adjust it inwards too far, the spring can come out of its pocket in the cap, or you could beat the back of your hammer to death on the screw if the screw protrudes into the inside of the gun.

On my SMG 60 I have a tapped back cap with a bolt in it. I then drilled a whole into the bolt so the spring will sit into the bolt. This way I can have a longer spring with drive in it.

Seems to work alright but just as Echo wrote, bad things will happen if your hammer hits the screw/bolt in the rva.

Bad things include cracking the cast receiver, possibly stripping the receiver threads, who knows what else.

Hmm, I thought when cycling the hammer hits the back cap anyway?

Even so, I think I'll stick with spring cutting if theres a risk of breaking anything.
