| MCB Member | I chopped down a pro-something barrel to 2" total (counting threads) and the accuracy is laughable. So I get closer. This is the A5 running a 10-ball spring feed (NOXX), 12-grams, and RT, though.

Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: New Jersey | True, but the stock barrel is pretty lousy to begin with Generally accepted wisdom is that to maximize accuracy, 8-10" of unported barrel is all that's needed. Shorter barrels - like the aforementioned JCS - aren't abysmally inaccurate, although you will notice a distance at range. If you're interested in a barrel kit that offers a very short front, take a look at the Hammerhead Sharktooth. It's a bit pricey - especially if you don't already use the Hammerhead system - but I've heard very good things about it and wasn't disappointed when I borrowed one to muck around with. I found it reliable to about 50'. |
