| MCB Member | What's this Super RT I keep hearing about? Something about larger fittings and hoses, but the original holes are so small, so wouldn't running a fatter line/fittings just lower the pressure and weaken the RT? Also, do any of you have instructional links, images, or first-hand reports of the system's effectiveness and feel? I'm hoping to turn this pistol into an "oh crap" tool. When I'm not a scout, I'm watching the flag. Thanks!

| I Hate This City. Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: New Jersey | The term "Super R/T" is generally used to refer to different things, depending on who you talk to. Most often, it's referring to the use of 1/8" ID hose and fittings on an A-5 over the stock 1/16" hose and fittings, combined with either a QEV on the piston housing rathen than the stock banjo fitting, or a slotted piston housing (such as the QEPH). This setup can - but will not necessarily - allow for a better rate of fire on the R/T. I personally dislike calling this a super R/T. The ROF isn't all that spectacular, and it's simply a matter of tossing a few bolt on parts onto the marker. A while ago, however, a few folks did do some rather crazy homebrewed stuff to their R/T's, getting the ROF of this pneumatic system well into the 20bps and above range. Much of it did involve abusing low pressure kits. Called "Super R/Ts," I think this is a more fitting use of the term. |

| Rec Poster | VVulf beat me to it. The upgraded hoses only became a popular use about a year ago, previous to that a super r/t only meant the more extensive mod. There are a few ways of doing it, the traditional version involves chopping up a LPK. But all have one trait in common, to increase the flow to the r/t boosting cyclic rates. A quick example: a5 with r/t, vortex/jetclick (otherwise your cyclone won't keep up, or will snap) use all the lpk parts, turn up your input pressure, and turn in your FVA (to limit velocity) That should give a pretty good boost. An option I'm working on slowly is putting a pressure control valve on either side of the banjo fitting so i can crank up the pressure, but direct more to the r/t rather than both the r/t and cyclone. There were alot of posts and info on this in the old a5og which is no longer available, and on the ums forum. I seem to remember vulcan (not sure if its a user id or the gun name can't remember) If you do research on super r/t on the new a5og beware because the term is now irreparably associated with just the larger fittings. ![]() my project is done for now (dead recievers, long story lol)

| MCB Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Music City, USA | In early 2003 I built up one of the first "Super RT's" hitting an avg. of 20-24bps. I dubbed the marker "The Vulcan". Mr_Powers and Devastation D, took interest in my mod, and between the two made a version faster than mine using parts available a couple years later. You can read about it on The Underground Mod Shop. One observation I found was the expotential wear of moving parts; ratchets, bolts, etc. At the reduced speed of THe Vulcan, I would go through a ratchet every 4-6 cases of paint. Mr. Powers and Dev D wore through ratchets in 2-4 cases and bolts in 3-5 cases. Consistant output pressure at or above 800 psi is needed also.
