Cyclone prongs

We I took my A-5 apart for cleaning and prep for another project, I found one of the prongs that goes into the Cyclone lower body sheered off and stuck in the Cyclone. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm not a welder, so I was thinking apoxy?

Any ideas. I was also entertaining the idea of a new shell...

Post pics of what you are talking about. If may be as simple as calling tippmann and getting a new part sent to you.

Tippman "probably" won't send you an entire new right side receiver half.

The prong that you are talking about it cast into the right side receiver. IMHO don't worry about it. You will prob do just fine with one on there and your 1/4-20 cyclone bolt tight (the one that pulls it to the side of the gun).

I'd try your gun and shoot and shake it around etc, but I'd bet a dollar your good to go as is.

The A5 has a "hook" or a "knuckle" that is part of the Right hand receiver body. Is this the part that has broken off? If so you will need to contact Tippmann for a new RH receiver. If you are talking about one of the two "pegs" that stick out of the RH receiver to the left and right of the "hook"... don't worry about it. I run one A5 without it and it is no an issue.

How old is the A5? I know there was cyclone related recall a while back. You should maybe call tippmann and look into it

It sounds like he means the guide posts for one each side of the main retainer bolt that keeps the Cyclone on the gun itself. Those two little-guys.

How in the heck did you manage to sheer one of them off?

If you have the nub you can "try" to JB-weld it back on? But like the others have mentioned your cyclone will be fine without one of it's two nubs.

Thanks. I'm not sure how it happened. When I took it apart, I found the peg in the Cyclone housing. I have an email into Tippmann and they asked for the age and sn...we'll see.

JB WELD? Is that like superglue or something for metal?

Yeah. We use it all the time at our shop (I referbish hematology and blood chemistry analyzers). I liken it to an epoxy for metal.

You shouldn't need anything drastic though. You'll be fine with only one peg.
