Smg Questions

i just picked up an smg off of craigslist. it was completely disassembled when i got it. The problem is the valve doesn't want to slide back into the body. Is it supposed to be a tight squeeze?
also the gun is bare aluminum and it has a short barrel i would say between 6 to 8 inches glued into the body.It has a plastic fore grip and a plastic site around the barrel tip, both glued on as well. The feeder holds 3 5rd clips on one side and then flips over with another 3 5rd clips on the other side. What model is this? i have only ever seen black ones.

Oh and it is missing the piece to hold the clip onto the body where do i find this?

Pictures will be posted tomorrow i am not at home where my camera is.

I bought it from the original owner he recalls paying several hundred dollars for it new. it also came with the original manual. I noticed that mine has a rear velocity adjuster that doesn't appear in the exploded view.

nice find. it's too bad that they are obsolete now because of paint issues.

Definitely a Bulldog per the ad above. Good snag if it's in nice shape. The velocity adjuster might be an aftermarket add-on (Taso made one) or a homebrew ghetto rig where they just drilled a hole in the back cap and put an adjustable screw in it.

I haven't stripped mine down far enough to get the valve out, but make sure there are no roll pins or set screws anywhere in the body still. Tippmann liked to hide things under fasteners sometimes that prevent internals from coming out or going back in.

As far as the clip attachment, I'm not sure how the "jungle clip" version attaches, but on the "fixed-mag" versions there is just a hex head screw that holds the mag onto the side of the gun.

Yup.. RVA's (Rear Velocity Adjusters) are aftermarket pieces... I still have some new in the bags.

The valves were never meant to be taken apart. If it's broken, then you need a new one. There are plenty of those floating around, or find another beater SMG that cosmetically stinks, but the internals are fine usually.

As for the "jungle clip", it's a plastic piece, and if you don't have it, then it broke. Very very few survived, I only know of a few people that own some, and I'm one of them since I was / still am, and SMG fanatic.
