| Cyclone Feed Qs I have a couple of questions about the operation of the Cyclone Feed system, as I do not own a 98, A5 or X7. From what I've been able to look up, the system operates on bleed pressure through the power tube; when the marker is fired, some of the gas used to propel the ball is diverted into a pneumatic cylinder on the feeder, which pushes a rod attached to a crank, and indexes the feeder. A spring then returns the rod to the normal position when the cylinder is depressurized. Is this accurate? What I'm trying to work out is how this operates without crushing balls. When the marker is fired, the bolt goes forward pushing a ball into the barrel prior to the valve opening and releasing the firing gas through the power tube, correct? The breech is sealed when the gas is released, which is when the gas would also actuate the Cyclone. I assume that the blowback of the hammer/bolt is fast enough that the breech is opened prior to the Cyclone indexing? It seems like otherwise the "on deck" ball would just get crushed against the outer surface of the bolt. Finally, it doesn't look like there's any sort of pressure mitigation being done; the Cyclone is plumbed directly into the marker, so it will operate at the high pressures CO2 can put out without any issues? |

| Pressure in the breech and hammer area is pretty low in the first place, which is why you need some mods when you use a low pressure kit on an A5. Thats why there is no LPR in the cyclone.

| OK so I guess the only question I have left is where the banjo fitting/pneumatic line is attaching to the marker. From the A5 diagrams I've looked up it seems to be the back end of the powertube, but it's hard to tell. |

| The cyclone operates off of excess blowback. It feeds off the same gas used to recock the hammer (a side port on the powertube that feeds off the excess gas from shooting the hamer back). When you pull the trigger the hammer slides forward striking the valve. The valve releases a small burst of air that travels through slots on the outside of the valve and inside the power tube that fires the paintball. Some the the gas used to fire the paintball also goes to a small chamber where the hammer is (that just released the air from the valve). In that chamber is a small port that feeds the cyclone. The gas entering the chamber with the hammer and port for the cyclone shoots the hammer back recocking the marker and some of the gas used in recocking the marker is diverted to operate the cyclone. At the same time the gas is released to propel the paintball, the hammer is on its way back and the cyclone feeds another ball as the front bolt is sliding back making room for the next paintball. Does this help a little? |

| Hrm..I think I've got it. A picture would probably be easier to see just to get the geometry of the powertube/valve down but that makes sense. Now I need to do some checking and figure out of my brilliant idea will still work. |

| the valve is in the power tube "gold". the valve ends right around the red line. so there is some space in the power tube. the outlet for the cyclone air line is on the opposite side of the gun about where the red dot is. hope this helps ![]() Click on the picture
