| Seasoned Member | I had an at85 and an at10, loved useing them when they worked. Had to wait a week for parts to get here(West Missouri) Traded them both for a X7. My X7 has reactive trigger, jcs red power tube and bolt, all the techt cyclone upgrades. 18 inch opsgear cocker barrel, lapco cocker to a5 barrel adaptor. love to see the guys faces when I play speed ball with it, lol. Just stand at the back and lay down cover fire for the snake runners. I have a a5 too. not as hopped up but still fun too use. even have a 98 custon for a loaner marker. get what you want and make your own desistion because you are the one that has to use it. just my 2 cents edm

| The quality control at tippmann seems to be lacking a bit recently, which is probably why p[eople are saying the x7 is junk. It seems it needs a bit of "finishing" out of the box. #1 problem I've heard is the molded plastic parts for the cyclone feeders aren't very smooth and causes ball breaks. Seems that so long as you take the gun apart and do a little sanding and polishing here and there, that the ball breakage issues and such go away. I don't own one so take that all with a grain of salt...

| Well tippmanns have needed finishing for peak performance since they made the jump to the 98 custom with the plastic powertubes, for decent performance now that they're owned by an investment company is no shocker.

| I asked the manager of a local field what he thought of the X7's since I had seem them out as rentals on a previous visit and boy did I get an earful. Apparently, the guy had purchased 25 of them and he said that 17 had leaks and other issues in the first month alone. Told me that he returned the entire lot after less than 60 days. This from a guy who maintains some ancient, seriously used pro-lites and 98's. I don't see myself buying another Tippmann if this is the quality level they are delivering these days. My ATS AT-85 smokes my tricked out (expansion chamber, new bolt and power tube, polished internals, flatline) 98c on accuracy and ROF any day and leaves my buddies with A5's shaking their heads when I tag 'em from 100+ feet. |

| I've heard about allot of problems with X-7's recently. Every time someone asks me what I think of the I tell them to get an A-5. They do and are always very happy. Those who buy the x-7 regardless.... not so much.

They have needed hand finishing for maximum performance since... Forever. They're not made for high performance, They're made for reliability. But if quality control is lacking THAT badly, They're about two steps away from brass eagle. I still feel the M98 was a bad idea. | |
