Free CVX valve upgrade from Tippmann?

Does anyone know if Tippmann still does the free valve upgrade to the older carbines? I read about it on several forums, but thought I would check here first.

I have recently aquired a 68 Carbine that is in fantastic shape. It had not been fired in some time and I found some old paint from broken balls in the barrel and the front receiver. The gold cup oil that was previously used on the gun had gummed up. After I complete tear down and reassembly, I got some leakage out through the barrel.

I could just order the replacement parts from tippmannparts.com for the existing valve or just upgrade to the cvx valve and braided line.

Any info is much appreciated.

LOL.......I received an email from Tippmann. He stated that the Carbine already comes with the CVX valve.

I will just order the necessary parts and not hold my breathe. A free upgrade would be nice, but I am more interested in the latest and greatest parts. Perhaps there is a newer CVX valve available.

Doesn't the valve from the ProCarbine fit the Carbine?

That Tippmann tech is an idiot. Read this thread for more info: http://procarbine.flashsplat.com/for...opic.php?t=629
The thread however is out of date. Older Carbines DID come with non CVX valves. Last I heard, Tippmann does not replace them even if you pay them. They don't carry the parts anymore. But I've been wrong before.

Hey Jackson

Whereabouts in Pittsburgh are you? I am in Elizabeth Township.

I wish I would have had that link first!!! Edited: The link i read was a quote from the link you posted. The part with the description of the guns was omitted. Then I read another link somewhere that described the guns with the hardlines as having the old valves.

The lack of info lead me to believe that I had the older valve. I didn't state in my original post that I had the hard copper line. Someone would have picked up on that I'm sure!

At any rate the Tippmann Tech pretty much echoed the thread that is linked. He did state that the oldest Carbines that had the plastic line with the spring wrapped around it did not have the CVX valve. He did not mention anything about a free replacement.

So now that I have UNconfused myself, I am going to make sure all the rest of my gear is good to go for the upcoming 5 Man Woodsball Tournament. Maybe I'll be rockin' the Carbine!

Thanks for all the info and input. I knew that I could get the best answers here.
