Question What is the oli combination for the F/A shocks?

Hi,
I'm trying to fix a tippmann f/a. Its missing the hopping spring and the marker does not do full auto properly. It cycles out of control. I was told that possibly the pistons are empty of the oil.
Suggestions? And what is the oil mixture that they use for the pistons?

IIRC, use ATF, and reassemble them under it all to keep from getting air in the mix.

Yes the maintenance video recommends ATF or other comparable hydraulic oil.

Tranny fluid is a good bet, or any other fairly viscous oil.

If you're missing the hopper spring, you're SOL though. Tippmann doesn't carry F/A parts anymore.

The easiest option is get a machinist to rig up an adapter to run a Qloader or Warp directly into the breech, that screws into the mounting holes. Alternately, you can hook up a Cyclone, however you still need an adapter spacer to go between the body and feeder, and need to run the air line somehow. The least destructive way I figured out was to get a 1/4-28" hollow threaded rod and replace the velocity screw, then screw it into a custom adapter to take 10-32 threads. The problem is there is no such thing as 1/4-28 hollow threaded rod, so you have to get 1/4" tube, and a 28 die and thread it yourself. The only 1/4-28 female to 10-32 female threaded fittings I've found are like $35 each..with a min order of $50.

I got a quote a while ago for a custom order for replacement F/A power springs but never got enough interest to offset the cost. Maybe I should try again.
