Chameleon 98?? Any of yall have one?

It was my first pb gun. pretty cool color. They made blue-ish and orange-ish ones. Any body know what one's worth?

PS: sorry, couldn't find a picture. I'll have to take one later.

im willing to be you just bought it used and someone custom painted it, i've never heard of a stock tippmann like that...

Yup, they made them. It was a stock option.

I'm pretty sure it was a "factory custom" option.

All pictures of these things are by definition rotten pictures because the chromatic paint changed colors when you moved the gun. If I remember, there was a blue/purple version and a green/magenta one.

No, it was more like orange/purple. That's the one I had. Ebay. $100 dollars. Beautiful gun.

i got a midnight-blueish-purpleish coulred one, and this page is the first I have heard about this color option for the 98, I have googled searched many hours, and nothing but then puff! here this page is. thank some of yall for the info, and how much are these types of 98s worth? I picked mine up for $100, with a expansion chamber. now i cant say too much about it being in mint condition but it would be nice to know if they are *rare* or something.

Of the hundred or more 98's I've seen pictures of on model98, there has been less than five of those. It's probably closer to three. I've never seen a picture of one aside from one on the table in the Tippmann interview part of the "Beginner's Guide to Paintball", here, and a handful of times on the internet.

I've seen one each of the color combos in person. They were pretty darned cool to tell you the truth.

However I've never seen any for sale, so I couldn't even guess about a market. Probably not too much more than a regular 98 though.

I had a purple/blue one. Bought it new in 1999. It was done by tippmann. I sold it sometime in 2001. I wish I still had it. I don't see them forsale much but I've always been watching.
