not a big difference between them. the velocity adjuster is different i believe. and the II has a lock on the pump stroke that won't allow it to be double cocked, which is a nice feature for rental purposes.

Go with the 2 because velocity adjustment is easy and stays in place less worry and you can still get parts for 2 but sell me any sl-1's that have broken feedneck's because I give them a new life.

also the valve tube. The #1 is held in by two allen screws. I believe the #2 has a screw in type valve tube. It's been so long, someone help out here.

There's also the obvious fact that you can change the grips on the SL-68's to any M-16 bolt on grip.

Wouldn't the bolts interchange? That would solve the problem of adjusting the velocity if you could pick up a bolt out of the II. IIRC, they're just a "choke" style adjustment via a setscrew in the bolt, but I might be wrong.

well if the I isnt good im not going to go with an SL because the reason i like the I is the position of the asa, if the I isnt worth it ill go with a sniper
but would the bolts be interchangeable? i might buy an II and switch off the bolts

It's just a breech drop nelson based gun. I think I even put a bolt and hammer fron an NW 89" in mine. The SL68 was like the AK-47 of paintball. Low maint and designed for the starter player in mind. If I remember correctly it had a hell of an auto trigger.
