| MCB Member | Is anyone else disappointed with the TPX?
/rant Perhaps it's just my idea of a finished product, but I'm kind of disappointed in the first generation of the TPX. My problems with the marker: 1. The pierce pin system is nice, but it needs to have a little more pierce depth to it. i got a couple of 12ies that just would not pierce. the rest had just barely been pierced. maybe it's just mine, but i was rather dismayed. 2. The 12 gram plug is hard to turn when pressurized. The quarter turn design is a good one, but the knurled portion of it should have been made longer. 3. The stock barrel is absolute crap. (Big surprise I know) The one I got wasn't even polished on the inside. 4. The breach area needs to be finished in my opinion. Maybe it's just me, but i think that it needs to be at least machined. 5. The magazine release button is a little hard to reach while keeping the marker on target. It may be a small gripe for some, but it annoys me. /endrant

try a different brand 12ie they do end up varying a bit brand to brand. stock barrel is no worst than other stck barrels and imo not that bad..... and there are many companies like hammer head and stiffi are already making barrels. depressurize thats just a couple of dry shots between clips,,,, managable and grow bigger hands |

Only complaint I have is it needs a longer knob with more grip....When I get some down time Im going to make myself one. The whole barrel thing I solved quickly.. I tossed on an aftermarket older prolite jobber... I didnt get the TPX as side arm I got it to use for limited paint..

Owning a $100 Armotech Zeus, I can't justify the $200 price tag for easy to swap magazines and pierce on first shot functionality. Likewise, it weighs nothing. You can't barrel tag someone in the nuts with 8oz of plastic. 3LB of milled billet aluminum to the junk always gets their attention!

It is 27 ounces, there coop. Exact same weight as my service model XD40. My biggest gripe, is all the people calling the magazines "clips". They aren't goddamned clips. They are magazines. Learn the words you are using, and use them properly.

I just got my TPX today and I have a few gripes myself. 1st. The 12ie changer is poorly designed and should be longer, but I can live with taking a few dry-fires at the end of a 12ie. 2nd. My magazine release has a tendency to stick if you push it too far, but it's not hard to push back. 3rd. The grip is on the big side (and I have fairly long fingers and wide hands). However, I'd rather have a larger than smaller. Other than that, the outer finish is a little ruff, but I like it. One thing is, unlike previous Tippys, you CAN NOT use crap paint without breaking lots of it. One the bright side though, it's a hell of a lot easier to clean than previous Tippys as well.

Argh, I took my TPX out for its first day of play. It saw 0 action. After I gassed it up and shot a few or the chrono (while adjusting it), it up and quit cycling. When I pulled the trigger, nothing happened. I thought it was bolt stick, so I took it apart and lubed it up. Then I tried again and it leaked out of the center of the body. I spent an hour trying to fix it, with no success. I think I'm going to email Tippmann and probably end up sending it to them.
