Thats one hell of a short game.
3 hours each day.
Can't see myself flying to portugal for 6 hours of play over 2 days.

In the words of our president:
Rec Paintball is not only about the game itself but the friendship bonds you create with other fellow players, party, fun, and vacation time, as you can see in the venue ::. Vale Paraíso .::.

8 hour game play, doesn't mean that it will be a quality game... just a long game!

We make the games shorter but filled with movement, quality, fun and adrenaline!

If you want to come and see for yourself, you are more than welcome!

When's next years "big" game...I wouldn't mind scheduling my vacation to coincide. My cousin in Santa Maria has wanted to play with me for a while.

The bungalows and chalets put our bunkhouse to shame. I'd love to go to that as I am partly of Portuguese descent and adore Portugal. Obrigado!

Too bad the bungalows, chalets and whatnot are all taken by now!
Tent room is still available.
The anniversary usually takes place in September / October, since August is a slow month because of the vacations.

The Association always tries to improve the players conditions, that's why we don't have a "fixed" field to play.
We have a small country but we try to find new locations to play in every event we host.
This is just our anniversary, but all local teams host their anniversary games, in different places each year.
One of the latest events took place in an abandoned mine. We could store our stuff in the local caves. A really beautiful location.
Take a look here:

Half of the fun comes from the game and the other half from the friendship bonds that have been created over the years of healthy gameplay.

Any questions or comments, you are welcome in our forum, which now has an English section.
PAINTUGAL - ASSOCIAÇÃO PORTUGUESA DE PAINTBALL RECREATIVO

Hope to have you here in next years.

Battle of the Ardennes

In the aftermath of D-Day, the American Army successfully kept winning battles against the German Army. Consequently, the American soldiers were convinced that their enemy was unable to counter-strike and that the end of the war was near.

Inexplicably, the Germans, under the direct command of Hitler, make a surprise counter attack. This attack was meant to undermine the peace that had been negotiated with the Allies.

Hence, starts the Battle of the Ardennes, at December 16th, 1944.
Hitler’s goal was to, as quickly as possible, break the few allied defenses, mostly belonging to the American Army.

The Americans resist but barely. They only notice the true scale of the attacker at the end of the 1st day of combat.

After 4 days (20/12/1944), the German forces reach the perimeter of Bastogne and encounter an American force unwilling to loose such a valuable roadway.

Saturday (December, 19th 1944)

The American Forces try to hold the perimeter around Bastogne, deploying troops with the 506th Regiment at Foy and Bastogne, the 327th 2nd Battalion at Marvie the 501st Regiment in Nefe and the 502nd in Champs.

With the communications network in bad shape, due to well-accomplished sabotage missions by the Germans, the communications between the American Regiments was truly precarious. The defense plan was weak and feeble. On top of that, the troops deployed to this location were inexperienced.

The Germans took advantage of the atrocious weather, to move their tanks, as quickly as they could, towards enemy lines.
In the American end, the worst is awaited. Reinforcements are long due, and there aren’t enough supplies to last a full-blown German attack.

The secret location of the V2 missiles was not a secret anymore. They were left behind when the Germans were forced to retreat. These missiles can change the outcome of the War if successfully retrieved and brought to the missile launch site in Bastogne.

Sunday (December 24th, 1944)

After days of combat, the initial strength of the Germans is diminished, failing to strike crucial targets and getting behind schedule on others.

The American Army has managed to keep Bastogne, even though the town had previously been under German control. The American strike is long awaited by now, since the reinforcements are fully operational.

At this point, the 502nd and 506th Regiments control Champs and Bastogne reinforced by the 4th Armored Division.

The Germans control Nefe, Marvie and Foy, where they hope to withstand and hold the American strike.
