Gravity League- final results

I want to thank every body who came and played or otherwise showed support. The day was a resounding success. An amazing time was had by all and I hope to be able to do bigger and better in the future.
Without further ado the final standings are

first place- Mass Destruction
second place- NH Blizzard
third place- Brass Brigade
fourth place- Poo Fighters
fifth place- Jon Gault

The real winners though were all who played, witnessed, or was involved in the effort. I am humbled at all the support received.

To all who were there, please feel free to share stories, critiques, comments, or anything else here. this would not have been possible without every one of you. Thank You again

I had an absolute blast and can't wait for the next one. My only issue with the games was the field size. What was it? Seventy by thirty five feet? Somewhere in that area? That's tiny for 1 on 1 let alone three man IMO. Maybe I've just been playing rec too long but once you hit your primary bunker there was hardly any room to maneuver. I personally believe the limited paint format works best when movement is encouraged rather than hampered. There also should be a lot more work involved in getting those twenty first grab points than it needed on fields that size. Two of the five games I was on the fifty line in less than ten seconds, the only reason I didn't go for first grab every game was that it wouldn't carry us to the next round and it'd be stupid to just let myself get shot out. The one I did get was to guarantee us some points so we wouldn't have a goose egg on the scoreboard.

^i agree with the field size. I like playing pump on a size bigger than it should be (playing 3man on a 5man field, 5man on a 7man field,...). Thats what it was like when OSC went around with the NPPL. It would be interesting to try.
But even with the smaller size it want too bad moving around.

I Had a great time!
The reffing staff was great.
The competition was strong and most importantly everybody played with honor.
Days like today remind why I spent most of my free time and money over the last twenty years on this sport.

we need to do our best to promote this league.
the west coast gets to have all the fun with the OSC ... this is the east coasts chance
lets make this blow up!!!

I think the field could have been a bit larger
and we should not have tried the run thorough in the second to last game

My team worked real hard for that fouth spot. Didn't think we'd ever get that far.
I'm sure the hot sun had allot to do with my lack of energy. What a terible time for my umbrella girl calling in sick

Today was just plain awesome. I had a grand 'ol time even though I did not walk away with the first place prize of Bubba cola... I had to settle for second place prize which was Mountain Holler! Which I'm enjoying now as I type this. Thanks to Fluff for getting this going and to AG for hosting the event!

I had an absolute blast today. Great games, alot of great gunfights. And an entire tournament full of great sportsmen. None of the attitude that I'm so used to seeing in electro tournaments. Thanks to Fluff, Carter, the lovely Mrs. Carter, AG for hosting, and all of my fellow Players.

In addition to the field size, it would be nice to have bunkers that didn't fall over in the midst of a gunfight

Also, more teams are a definite need, since I berely had time to wipe down my glasses and reload my tubes between matchups.

The "real" size of a 3 man field is 50x100. Our field was 60x90. We made it 10 feet wider and 10 feet shorter than a "normal" field. There were several reasons for this. 1) The field was still soggy down the unused end and would have made for messy play/bad for the field.
2) We wanted to give people the full view from the "50" so both teams could be seen. 3) I was thinking we would keep running out of paint if the field looked more like a 5 man field as far as dimensions and bunkers. Maybe we will try that next time and see what happens.

Thanks to everyone for coming out.
