Oct 4 & 25 '09, Poor Man's World Cup - Headrush, Syracuse, NY

HeadRush Inc.
3417 Walters Road
Syracuse, NY 13209
315.453.RUSH (7874)
HeadRush Action Sports Park - Syracuse, NY

Friggin Free 5-man... Poor Man's World Cup? These guys come up with the best tourney names haha. I figured I'd help spread the word for those who are interested.

Headrush's definition of divisions:

Advanced:
Open to all players. 10.5 BPS Ramping based on the 2009 PSP Standard.

Intermediate:
A player who is has not finished in the top 3 in any 2008 Beginner tournament with 8 or more teams registered or any player using a pump gun. 10.5 BPS Ramping based on PSP 2009 Standard.

Explanation of the Intermediate, 5-man division:

Long answer: We are using the RaceTo-2 format which means you play 4 teams. You will play between 8-12 games as you play each of the 4 teams in a best of 3 structure but these games are not back to back, usually you have 3-5 games between each of your games.

Basically there is no real difference between 5 Man, and 5 Man RaceTo-2. You get the same amount of games. Scheduling is the same. You just play less teams but you play those teams more than once.

Ken
Layout... World Cup layout, of course!

Now those are the types of prizes that should be given out. Actually I'm going to be amazed if you have a high turn out. I really hope you do. I hope it all goes well and please write a review of it.
Later,

Are they actually charging the 5-man players $10 more per case of paint or is that just a typo?

I'm pretty sure it isn't a typo and that Ken just reduced the price for the race to 4/x-ball, since they'll be shooting more paint than the 5-man division.

Oh, is anybody looking for two players? We can offer a bad dorito player and a bad back player that can fling lots of paint and probably not hit anything. This package offer is free of charge of course. We both just wanna play it.

Well... unfortunately the throw together that I tried get going fell through for the intermediate division.

However, the owner decided to do a Free Agent team capped at 10 players for the Advanced PMWC coming up next Sunday - Oct 25th. For those who want to play that don't have a team that would like to have fun and gain some more tourney experience, hop on the free agent team. Here is a link to more details at Headrush's forums: HeadRush Action Sports - Paintball - Motocross - BMX - Skate - Snow
