I have to agree with you on the Refing. I was on the side line taking video and photography and noticed that the referee's were growing increasingly lazy as the time went on. This unfortunaty happens to alot of tournaments that end where the pump players and the last to play. Most of the referee's didn't care at that point and made some really bad calls.

The penalty that was called for the hopper hit and continual play, the player could not have known that he was hit and the referee made no motion or call that the player was out untill he pulled they player and admonished the one for one.

Another bad call was when Player 1 atempted to bunker Player 2. Player 1 missed Player 2, and Player 2 did shoot player 1. When player 2 stood up to check for any hits the ref called him out. player 2 did not call himself out, and the ref did not leave the sideline for a paint check.

Honestly, I thought the event was awesome. Yes things didn't run as scheduled, the human refs (or zebras if you prefer to call them that) started to get tired towards the end of the day... but that happens.

And if your captain went to the captains meeting, he said "the only unobvious hit, is a pack hit... anything else will be a 1for1."

Myself and team soup cannons had A LOT of fun and thought it was a great event. We did pretty good even with a last second third and running the same strategy all day lol. Sportsmanship was awesome... I'm very glad to have gotten the chance to play the teams that showed up. And we couldn't have lost to a cooler team in the finals, rubber duckies right? You jersey FP PL guys are awesome too by the way. So uh, stay awesome. I'm off to TX now, cya.

HeadRush Action Sports - Paintball - Motocross - BMX - Skate - Snow
spider were you there? not asking to throw ****, but just wondering.
in all honesty even though people said everything was great, we all know that not 100%. and i'm not saying this towards headrush for this event, i'm talking about across the board, at Tourneys, Big games, Scenarios because people don't want to be labeled.

and about that thread, ask boss ballers pump team about their last game, i'm sure they didn't for get it. you don't have to take it from me, ask them.

Headrush does have a great facility, hell i wish there was an indoor like that by me. the owner(s) and staffs were very friendly and approachable (sp?). So lets not let the thread take away from Headrush as a whole. I will even go out and say Freedom and myself stopped by on Saturday night to check it out. and i was surprised to see the range of ages playing and enjoying themselves. Something i really have seen in my area in only outdoor fields, as indoor tends to shy the very young crowds away. Or even having moms bring their little ones like 10-12 years old to play
I won't say that I won't go back to Headrush next year or event. Paintball isn't the way i put a roof over my head and food on the table. I play cause i enjoy not only playing pump but also enjoy playing with and against most of the people i encounter.
The things that happened at the tourney shouldn't be turned into a tyger wood's detail media drama. People there saw and or experienced the good and bad.
If the staff or owner's of Headrush would like, I would be more than happy to discuss some suggestions, or just give a different perspective through PM or email. Hopefully they would take suggestions and comments from everyone and make the next turkey bowl even better than it already is.

Thanks

It's actually what I expected... The refs tended to let you call yourself out if you knew you got hit, and if you didnt, they would pull a 1for1 (they did it left and right at NYPL... on everyone)

I know I got hit a few times, and couldn't tell if they were bounces or breaks, but in the middle of a gun battle, the last thing I can do is check myself... especially when a ref is standing right next to me and im yelling "am I clean?".

Now, for those of us who know the rules, the rule is "you MUST call for a paintcheck, whether it be to a team mate or a ref, you MUST call for it... refs do NOT need to come check" pretty crappy way of doing it (this is PSP/NPPL rules btw)

I know that there were 3 games where I was hit, and kept playing, only for a ref to stop me as I went to move (let me play for a good 20-30 seconds after the hit) Now, it may have been because I know the refs, it may have been because they didnt see it, or it may have been because they were lazy... I honestly don't know.

I like the group of people who run headrush, its why I go back... even if the events themselves suck...

My 1 huge complaint, was that I couldn't see the paint at all... (in the air) everything else, was pretty standard tourney stuff that happens everywhere.
