Pump Ultimate Beer League - PUBL
So this is something we've been working on for a while. Beer league 5-man open class pump tournament series, RaceTo-2. Price will be $250 entry per team - paint $40/$60 per case. If the first event is successful we will have two more throughout the year. Due to a combination of low registration and the late spring causing the field surface not being ready yet, we are going to have to cancel the first event date. Second place: 5 sets of four laser etched wood and cork backed coasters.
Third place: 5 dog tag chains each with a pair of stamped stainless steel bottle openers.

The Pump Ultimate Beer League was formed to offer an alternative form of tournament play to New England pump players. In the original game of paintball competitors often joined together after the game to celebrate their achievements with a pint of beer. The Pump Ultimate Beer League was created in that spirit. It is a by Players, for Players event with the entrance fees going towards prizes for the winners and the rest going to supporting the field for letting us host the event.
∙ Why Beer?
OG paintball players typically like two things, playing with their pump handles, and well….beer.
∙ What will the Format be?
The format of the games will be 5 man, Race 2, with PSP inspired rules. Nationally Pump is played as a 5 man event, open division, no equipment restrictions other than it must be pump operated, with a minimum stroke of .68 inches. The layouts will be reflective of the current PSP field layout with an up to date bunker set on a regulation size field. We would like to create an environment where more teams feel they can compete on a national stage if they choose to, and lets face it 5 Man is more fun!
Every team will receive at the start of the day a schedule in which they will play every team at least twice in prelims. If we are able to get at least 8 teams or more to join us we will have semi finals in the same format and finals to determine who will take home the honors. If we have less than 8 teams their will only be a set of Finals matches and 3rd will be determined by points.
We will also have a code of conduct. Although paintball can be a very competitive sport we would like to make sure that this entire Event is done in the spirit of good fun. Players who decide they would like to fight or become unruly in any way will be asked to leave. Again, this event is BY PLAYERS FOR PLAYERS, ain't no one got time for dat’ ****. Besides we aren’t getting paid so were not putting up with a lot of shenanigans.
∙ Where will the Event be held?
Allstarr paintball has a field in Leicester MA (just outside of Worcester MA) that has a regulation 5 man PSP field. We will be using their facilities for the Events.
∙ What will it cost?
Entrance to the event will be $250 due two weeks prior to the event date. Teams may pay as a group or as individuals. A paypal account has been set up for just this purpose, it is firstname.lastname@example.org. Please E-mail that account to let us know what team you are associated with.
∙ What if I don’t have a team but I still would like to play?
So you’re a free agent aye? That’s great. If you still want to join in the fun please contact us about being placed on a team, and if we find 5 free agents well just ask that everyone pay $50 towards your entrance and we will form a team for you, if a team is looking for one or two players please contact us so we can get you in touch with free agents before the entrance fee deadline.
∙ How many Events are planned?
As of right now we would like to get enough teams to hold the first event, and if that goes well and the teams involved would like to extend it to a 3 game series. Tentative dates are May 4th, August 3rd, and October 5th. If we get all three Events in we will have a season champ crowned and the name of that team and its members will be displayed on the players Keg.
∙ What do the prize packages look like?
The prizes for the event will be high quality beer related items. After talking to many pumpers about what motivates them, beer seemed to be a common denominator (not money…curious) and although we cannot give out alcohol for prizes we think that we can find a classier alternative that any man would be proud to display on his mantel (or just talk about at the bar). We will be posting some photos of the prizes ASAP.

Allstarr Paintball prohibits the consumption of alcohol at their field.
∙ Can I bring my own Beer to the Event?
Please refrain from bringing you own alcoholic beverages to the Event.
We will organize a trip to a local pub after the event to quench everyone’s thirst provided they are of age.
