Tribal solenoid?

Just picked up a Tribal as part of a CL deal, and after a thorough rebuild I've determined that this here sumbitch has a bum noid. A bit of online research tells me that a Bushmaster solenoid can be adapted with some hole elongation... Whatever... I want to make this weird gun work.

Anybody have success with this? This is why I like my mech guns! No weird obsolete dead-end parts.

It is a Skinner K4H01 Solenoid. The holes have to be drilled out slightly to allow for the Tribal mounting screws. It seemed to have been a fairly common mod that Air Soldier Products did during the Tribal heyday.

You, like me, seem to have picked up these fun guns about a decade too late. There isn't much support out there. Warped is out of the game, and Edwin is sitting on stock and not developing anything new to my knowledge. Have Blue is pretty much the only third party Tribal support still left, but he has been focusing on things other than Tribals.

I would probably drop Have Blue a line for some information as he used to do the mod.

which bushmaster solenoid? the older ones use a skinner k4h01 (ASP Online Store: Skinner K4H01), and the newer ones (2004+) use a Humphrey HEA10A5-GL-101W (ASP Online Store: Humphrey HEA10A5-GL-101W Solenoid).

Bushmaster/Defiant/Tribal all use the skinner k4h01 just on the tribal you have to drill out the mounting holes to accommodate the tribals larger mounting screws,

It's a parker / skinner K4h01. They were used on tribals, old bushmasters, some impulses...etc. Haveblue used to carry the noids but they were quite expensive. It might actually be cheaper to get a junky impulse.

From what I remember you will have to drill out the mounting screw holes slightly and use the mounting screws from your tribal. You may also have to swap the spring. You obviously will also need to put the wiring together.

Your timing kind of sucks as I just sold a NIB noid on ebay a few weeks ago and didn't get all that much for it.

What's the actual problem you're having? If the o-rings in the noid are good, you can sometimes open them up, lube (lightly) and get them ticking again. I do still have some random parts but I don't think I have a complete noid anymore.

It's leaking out the solenoid and not clicking.

I'm assuming it's the stock board(s).

The lights all come on, the 3 on the back in sequence, and the red one on the left side.

That thing still using the stock AOC? Might also be grossly overpressurized. Also, one thing to try is to loosen the grip frame, power it up and push the red button on the noid to see if it cycles the solenoid.

Oh... not sure if the noid from that junk bushie is compatible? It's the older bushies (pre 2003?) so not sure if it's the same model. Gasket looks about the same though.
