Pneumatic Design Storm photos

Page here: http://www.vintagerex.com/museum/Pne...ign/Storm.html

See all attachments - teaser below. These were taken by Sugarstump for one of his recent auctions.

While we're at it: two of the photos on the Storm page appear to be of a different marker (PEC Master?).

Is there a way I could edit Vintage Rex myself or does it have to be modified by an admin?

Any ideas on how to categorize this marker? I appears to be a stacked-tube blowback. Close to a Spyder? VM-68? Something else?

Internally it appears as though it might operate like a VM-68.

It's just a nice stack tube blowback. The guy who made them was more interesting than the guns... He was a South Vietnamese white hat.

The green one posted is actually much rarer than most... Only a few were made in green, almost all of them were black.

There is one big difference with the Storm compared to most other stacked tube blowbacks.

Look closely at the bolt. You'll notice there is no hole on the bottom for the air to go from the valve up to the bolt. Instead the valve just releases air towards the hammer. There's a hole on the face of the hammer, which goes to a hollow linkage pin, and then out the front of the bolt.

that is interesting... however, wouldnt it mean that pressure is dumping through the bolt while its also moving backwards while the striker blows back? seems like that would cause feed blowback and lost efficiency.

Nothing to add to that but as an aside:

The velocity adjust is at the front of the body, presumably changing the tension on the valve spring.
