Well I happen to have a spare beat up body and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to mill and/or modify the body to reduce the weight. Just curious, not sure this is something I would ever do since I think my VM will be kept as a collector/curio piece.

i have milled vm bodies. They make the gun lighter and gives them more of a kick, but whatever you do, leave the front asa alone when cutting away at the body. taking off the front asa completely will cause issues with leaking in the long run. smiley |

I saw one that had the top tube shaved on the sides from behind the feeder area all the way back and another that had material removed on the bottom tube exposing the hammer. I was thinking a combination of the two. Of course I would have to find someone to mill it as I don't have access to the equipment.

Why not mill and modify it? They have more than enough meat on the body to give you oodles of options.

The VM is loaded with extra metal that can be milled off and still make it usable....I always wanted to try having one done like this one ![]() If you're going to have it milled may I recommend Luke's Customs for that task, does good work with fast turn around time. |
