VM 68 with stuck barrel

I have a VM 68 that I bought a new barrel for. The barrel is aluminum.
I threaded it in and let it loose or the field to do what VM do best.
Then sadly, I put it away in a box... for more than 6 years!

Now I can't get the barrel out! I forget my Admiralty Charts... the barrel is aluminum and the receiver is ? some kind of steel? Is there some sort of corrosion going on that has screwed me? Or do I just need to turn harder?
I've tried a variety of penetrating oils, and a rubber padded vise... but no luck yet.

I'd like to get it ready to cause mayhem and wreak destruction again!

The body of the VM is heavy duty aluminum
Try heating it with a torch, just be careful not to overdo it.

I would say try and get some oil into the threads, and put the gun in the vice, and use some channel locks or a vice grip and use every bit of muscle you have and try and get it off that way. If that doesn't work, Idk.

I
Don't
Know.

Barrels can still get stuck on there. I have a Trracer that's kinda like that. Screw the barrel in fine, and it takes everything I have to get it off.

Strap wrench, so as to not utterly destroy what you're workin' on.

Ummmmm...NO.

That's the last thing you should try. That's a good way to destroy the gun and or barrel.

Strap wrench and a well padded vice. Perhaps a heat gun. You can get them for $10 from Harbor Freight. You want to heat the outside and not so much the barrel. You can also get a pretty good grip on things with a bicycle inner tube.

Back away from the Vice Grips as if they were a rattlesnake.

Strap wrench, put a ton of padding in the vice and use the wrench, you'll be good to go.
