im having a big problem with rollouts the paint my field uses wont get stoped by the fingers most of the time ate there any ideas i was thinking of drilling and tapping the body for cocker detents

There was a discussion a while back that it would be pretty trivial to make some homemade detents. That might be your best option, as I think the body of the VM is way too thick for a traditional cocker detent to be utilized. This is the quicky drawing I made for a homebrew detent. Really should not cost anything in parts if you already have some bits and pieces laying around:
