Question Vm68 mag

Hi all,

I have just 'gained' a VM68 MAG Paintball gun.

Could someone tell me anything about it, age etc and if the spares are still available. Also accessories. A manual would be nice as well.

Pictures as requested.

There seems to be two screws missing from where the ball load point is. Can you still get spares? I am in the UK.

BTW - What is the yellow tool for?

It seems to be missing the entire feed block?
Pro-Team Products still lists a replacement feedblock for $20, so you at least have that option if you can't find one here.

Also, a few other guns used the VM-style feedblock. The equalizer, and the bruizer? those are so unpopular that you can usually pick them up pretty cheap.

Not sure how you would homebrew a replacement. Though, you might be able to solder a piece of copper pipe to a copper plate, and mount it to those 10/32" holes.

That yellow tool is to remove the valve, as well as to adjust FPS through the valve.

To use it, you remove the rear plugs, then the internals (ie bolt/hammer/spring). Then remove the valve screws on the side. Then INSERT the tool into the lower tube, all the way. Then turn it into the valve.

You can then either use it to pull the valve out (ie to clean, or replace cupseal). Or use it to TURN the valve. The valve has 4 velocity settings, which you change by turning 90 degrees, then screwing the set screws back in.

Generally though, its such a pain in the ***, people just keep the valve set at the highest setting, and adjust through the bolt, or through the common "automag spring mod".

You can get manuals, both original, and fan-written through:

As usual HP seems to be the font of knowledge on all things VM

The feedneck is positively missing. Most other screws can be found at hardware stores.

And if all else fails I have a box of parts I could look through for you.

Thanks for the info Guys much appreciated :-)

Food for thought.

I'd like to get it back to 100% complete, I'll have a look in the for sale ads here, but as I say I'm in the UK so not sure if these things can be sent over from the USA?

BTW - how/where do I get the air tank refilled?

Paintball fields will refill tanks of course and locally over here so will dive shops, fire extinguisher service centers and probably welding supply shops.

It looks pretty complete except for the feedneck which you would need to use it. though I,m not sure how many shots you will get out of that tiny tank prob about 50 would be my guess. You will probably need to get a 20 oz. tank which will make a nice stock on the back of the gun....like in my avatar..... that tank in the picture is a 3.5 oz. or 4 oz.

Also that is a CO2 tank not compressed air..........the tank would not hold a 3000psi fill of compressed air. I would think.

Ounces are American I guess....how do they measure tanks over there with the metric system?

There is a feedblock on Ebay right now

Its an aftermarket powerfeed, and the seller is asking way too much.... but if anything, its good to know that you can find parts like that.

Looking in the BST, I see a feedblock for $4. Even with international shipping, thats a pretty good deal.

That might be gone, but post something in the WTB. I'm sure you get something.

Anyway, that gun looks pretty much 100% complete. Usually the thing that goes missing is the thumb-screws, but looks like they are all there expect for the 2 on the feedblock. Those actually might be very tough to find at your local hardware store.
Otherwise, looks nice.

Are you asking where to fill that 3.5oz co2 tank? Same place as your 7oz, 12oz and 20oz. Its just a normal size tank, though you do not want to use that tank by itself. You might only get 40 shots... YOu were supposed to use that tank along with a larger tank on the backbottle, using both at the same time.

There was a BRIEF trend in the early/mid 90s for guns that could run dual tanks. But it was tricky if the tanks did not have on/off valves. Not impossible, just an extra thing to worry about before the game starts...

Thanks for that HP

OK time to sound real dumb...

What is a feedblock? and what hopper would I need?

Can the bottle fit on the front under the barrel?

Can you get a stock for it?

So could you tell me what to get, names, part numbers etc.

Have you got any members from the UK?

OK dumb mode off
