First VM

Just got my first VM and I love it, only problem is I think the ball and spring ing the bolt are missing. I don't hear any clicking when I turn the adjuster. What is a good fix for this? Some Teflon tape? Thanks

There is no spring in the bolt, only ball bearings, the o-rings are all that hold them in. I would simply go to the hardware store with the bolt and see if you can find the right size bearings.

LOL They usually are....a royal P.I.T.A. to get off in fact.....Nice thing is you don't actually have to remove all the o-rings,just the one closest to the rear of the bolt

The Starr-Fire bolts are drilled for the ball bearing but the adjusting screws don't have the slots. I tried slotting the screw on yours but the hole was too small for a stock VM bearing and the adjuster threads are different.

I put some liquid thread sealer on it before I sent it; basically liquid teflon tape. It was holding when I used it but it sounds like it needed more lube inside--I'd lubed the o-rings and a couple drops in the ASA but the poor thing had been dry a long time so I think I didn't use enough.

Ok used the VM for the first time today, it was great...besides the chopping, double feeds, and low velocity. My magic fingers are in good shape, I just think the paint was small, what material works good so I can make my own but longer? And who sells siphon tanks or kits(I dont think the valves on mine will work i have a new kee tank and an 06 brass eagle)
