New to this thing labeled the Virtual Machine

I got one of these beasts of a gun for free from my lil bro who didnt want it a couple of years ago. I just pulled it outa the garage cuz a couple of guys at work want to go paintballing and me being cheap like i am said to myself, "self you have a paintball gun u can probably make work, who cares if its old as long as its still acurate". Ive already reduced the hammer's wieght and cupped the bolt, i am curently trying to reduce the trigger pull on it and have fabed a wire ajustable stock for it(pics to come once its a done deal), now all im looking for is a few parts or another 68 to play around with i have a brigport mill and 3axis cnc, and lathe at work with a good machinist behind them and me willing to learn how to use them i would like another body to mill down and customize like all the customs u see floating around the internet and on vmempire.com which has pretty much saved the life of my vm cuz i was gonna sell it untill i saw the empire and what ppl were doing to them. any help spare parts or advice would be greatly welcomed.

Well... thats the right set of tools if you own a VM68!

The VM has an absurd amount of extra metal. The sky is really the limit. Some of us went the "reduce everything possible" route... others have tried to make shapes, or patterns. ie Grooves, slots, lines, etc.

Fortunetly, VMs are common enough that you can usually find old beaters on Ebay for $30-40, and nicer ones for $40-60. The prices stay low because most newer players do not appreciate older guns, especially old blowbacks.

The only thing I've found to really die over time on the VMs has been the detents. Otherwise they are tanks.

word, well im gonna keep checking ebay nothing much on there right now i just looked but im sure something will pop up. ive seen a few but i let them go dangit all. i just put a remote on the bottle last night i had plastidiped my wire stock but thats turned out to be a terrible idea cuz its pealing off so i gotta peal it all off and decide on a finish. my next question is painting the gun, i couldnt see using duracote to be a problem as i have used it on a few firearms i own, are there any other suggestions as to how or what i should do to paint the thing. oh and last thing couple of guys at work named it the GRUMPY OLD BASTARD so i gotta figure on putting that on the barel or something cuz i find it pretty funny.

I think my cupseal isnt functioning right I hook it up to air and it sounds and feel like its excaping from the valve with the bolt open. and the only seal ive found is on ebay for 20$ that seems like an awful lot for that lil guy. any thoughts?

pour some air tool lube or paintball gun oil into the air source adapter and dry fire it...it may help.

Cocker cupseals will work. They are ALMOST the same size.
Now, i'm not sure if its only the pre-99 cockers, or all cockers. I'm not a cocker expert.

But since people would often swap out the factory seal for a fancy aftermarket version, the stock ones were often thrown out, or sold cheap. So, it doesnt hurt to lurk around the BST for a cocker cupseal.

Your valve orings could be dry rotted. That is very common with vm-68s these days. All of the seals, minus the cupseal and hammer oring should be replaced.
