So, I just pulled my blue anodized stock VM out of storage. my tank is rusted, so I can't imagine I'll be able to get someone to refill it. What else should I be looking at? I'd like to get some rounds through it before I start fixing it up and possibly modifying it. Bolt pulls and releases smoothly. The 'safety' doesn't seem to want to engage. I'm tempted to disassemble the whole thing (if I can find the write up...) any suggestions? *a box I found in the shed... |

Any kind of paintball oil. My VM has never had a problem with anything I put threw it and its an old field rental. Hell I think the last time I used my VM I didn't even oil it I just took it out of the box and slapped a tank under the barrel the dang thing was good to go after sitting for two years.

I believe the long tanks were 10oz. The shorter tanks were 7oz.

In the old days we used ATF oil, or air-tool oil. Anything but WD40. If the orings are swelled, or if its full of dried paint, you might have small issues. But otherwise not much to fail. Your tank can't be worse that the rental tanks you usually see. Fortunetly, smaller 7oz tanks are practically given away. Granted, given the effeciency of the VM, you are going to be filling that sucker after every game. Its pretty trivial to add a bottomline for a bigger tank.

can you still get O-rings for the bolt? Also, looking into converting to HPA with a remote: What would I need to do to convert to HPA and a remote? |
