| Using the side valve port on the VM. I'm looking to replace the 10-32 x 1/2" valve screw with a 10-32 x 1/2" barb. I've seen the old retro air-assist for feednecks for the VM, but my desire is to reroute some of the gas to a ram for a RT trigger in my bullpup design. My problem is finding such a part. I got everything else. Anyone know where I can pick one up? All my 10-32 barbs are way to short to reach the valve threads. They don't get passed the side walls of the VM. Much thank yous. |

| MCB Member | Wow thats a great idea. It might be easier to re-tap the valve if you can find a longer barb of a different thread. I bet what you are looking for is tough if not impossible to find. Then again, what do i know? *edit How about tapping more towards the front of the gun directly into the air chamber? This way, the barb doesnt have to double as a valve retainer. |

| The reason is I want the ram to activate when the gun is fired. So basically some of the air propels the ball, a lot of air blows the hammer back, and just enough for the ram to push the trigger rod back. If I can find a drop in that is a cleaner solution for me. It's as simple of just finding ( or once again paying for ) a unique barb with a long threaded shaft. The other option as you said is to tap the where the auxiliary valve ports are aligned on the side wall and use that. Still an option, but my second choice. I'd rather pay for a fabricated part than tap into the valve though. |

| Tapping into the air chamber woul dgive him constant pressure through the valve... the ram would not open and close. Try McMaster-Carr and looks for hose barbs there... Edit: Never mind.. you beat me to most of this. E

| So far all I have found is an extender that would place the barb roughly 1" outside the outer wall of the VM. Yuck! I don;t want that stickout of the side of my marker. It's a VM, therefore it's a work of art. Idea: Is there a way to widen the 10-32 hole in the body and place a 10-32 collar in it's place? Like a small male screw and in the center is a 10-32 female to screw the barb into? |

| The original VM Turbo Loader did not tap the side of the valve. Instead, it tapped the access port just behind the feed block. That might be a better candidate for powering the reactive trigger ram. It should provide plenty of power. The original Turbo Loader was pretty much just a small tube, and small clippard ram, and some 10/32 fittings. Primitive, but that ram was able to bust apart the paint pretty good. So it should be strong enough to reset the trigger. But if you insist on drilling a hole, put it BEHIND the existing valve set screw, not in front. Like Shmitti said, that would dump a full 800psi into the ram, and make shrapnel. Put a hole between the setscrew hole, and the slot for the cocking knob, and that will divert the recock pressure to the ram. nick

| My valve port behind the feed block I believe is a 1/4-28 thread and not 10-32. My __LAST__ resort is wanting to add a new hole or widen one I already have on my VM. So far everything I have on it is swappable to original condition. |

| Pneumadyne lists hose barbs with 1/4-28 threads, while the Clippard website only shows the 10-32. SO, Pneumadyne might be a last-resort option. Heck, you could do a WTB for an old VM Turbo Loader. Oddly, that would probobly have all the parts you need.... nick

| MCB Member | Not sure if there is anything that you could use here, but it might help (I didn't read the thread...) Forgive me if I'm wrong. 10-32 : Palmers Pursuit Shop!, Where Custom Still Means Something Lots of stuff in 10/32 size.
