| What ever tight bore barrel that you can get. Most of the old stuff has a large bore in comparison to today's paint.... so you end up needing good ball fingers to hold the ball.. and lots of air volume to get the ball moving up to speed. If you can find one of the Lapco Cocker to VM barrel adapters then you can use cocker barrels... and get something with a tighter bore. Or if you are handy... get a chunk of palmer barrel... and using your barrel nut and the threaded portion of your stock barrel, braze (solder) the three pieces together to make a new barrel. E

| If you can get a hold of one, then they are an excellent choice... I didn't put it on my short list because they aren't the easiest thing to find. E

| Sunstar Paramedics Slave | I've seen the Doc freak back and heard some good thing about it, but honestly I don't want to wait a long time to get it/ look for it. Armsons I loved using when I had my VMs, and I currently use a J&J and love that barrel to, both were 16 inch.

| I paid through the nose for mine. I found a seller willing to part with his attached with a VM68. $200 later it was at my door. So I paid $100 for it. The only other Doc part I have is a p-stock. Picked it up for $25. Something I found out about Doc is when it goes on sale get it _now_ and not later. After his first run, it hard to get anything. I've toyed withy the idea of paying Dan Sergison to go the sleeper route and widen the standard VM barrel to accept inserts. Then add a tiny watch or nylon set screw to hold the insert in place and then the collar slips over the screw to hide it and attach the barrel. I bet with some of those with the tools could do this with some heavy grit and time. |
