Was wondering if anybody had links or info on how to stick two vm's together and work as a pair like a double trouble. I have a few laying around and want to give it a whirl. I need to know the trigger set-up and how to get them both to work together more than the body style... thanks VM-onster |

I used a plate across the trigger assembly's to mount them together, then I bolted a motor to the side, the shaft has alternating lobes so as the motor spins one gun fires then the other. I can achieve a decent rate of fire but each gun is only shooting half that speed, should avoid any chopping problems. theres a video in the vm of the year thread, but ill try to post a close up of the triggers working. VM's are a good gun for a dual conversion because of the ambi cocking knob, and some have the ambi feed. The lobed method above is pretty easy. I've made offset lobes using nickels with offset holes, held to a threaded rod with nuts. Another method which I've considered is to get 2 solenoids for each trigger. They are cheap around $5 or so. Get a 3-way switch so one activates when pulled, and one when released. No need for a board, though I'd imagine that it would be trivial to hook one up (seriel, or parrallel). Dwell is no issue since you would be actuating the trigger, and not the sear directly. However, I wonder about a good mech conversion. Would be easy with pneumatics, but for a mechanical solution? Well, you could link the hammers together. That would be easy, then remove one sear, and have a single sear catch both? Would that work? Or an alternative approach is to NOT link the hammers together, but have linkage from the #1 hammer "trip" the trigger on the #2 gun. Another idea I've had is to drill 2 1/8" holes into each valve, so you could link them directly together with a short 1/8" pipe. The benefit would be to hide ugly external gas lines. nick

Actually, I've been playing with the idea of making a "Dual Body" i.e. a vm body made for two sets of vm-68 internals, but I'm still trying to figure our how to do the trigger system that it would be select fire - semi double shot, or alternating semi fire. I was thinking electronics, but I'm just not sure. I want one trigger, not two and I want the set up to be sturdy and tough...no weak points. Until, I figure out the trigger system , I'm holding of on making the dual body. smiley |

I remember having this odd idea a while ago: ![]() Basically, expand the valve mount on the side, so that you can divert gas into a second breech/feed assembly. The 2nd bolt can be easily hooked to the cocking knob. Heck, you could add a 3rd breech on the other side (and secure the valve underneath) Now, in theory you would only then need to make the valve push out more air. This is the tricky part though, since it would require much larger holes, and longer dwells, and heavier springs, etc, etc. This is exactly how the old China Paintball (RAP4) S4 worked: ![]() Look closely, and you can tell its just a regular VM68, with a 2nd breech attached. nick
