You might want to check with Pro Team Products for some parts.

I'd leave it stock. Your going to spend far moer in custom upgrades and mods than you will on a new piece. If you want to do some upgrades I'd stick with period specific stuff, but that's just my opinion. I'd leave it as it is and play with it like that. You might find its close enough to todays standards to keep you happy. Myself, I'd prefer a VM over most of the junk made today . You'll find something else here to "upgrade" to soon enough, and you'll regret doing anything irreversible to your baby

Yes it's true about the mask you have, all masks require ear and face protection....throat armor is still optional though.Best place to find parts for VM's at this point is Pro-Team Products and Palmer's.You'll find many Dragon Brigade members here....Me for one Welcome to MCB.....be sure to watch your wallet | |

Just traded a Delta .68 for a basically brand new VM-EXC. You can transform the VM into a Veritable mad dog. Select fire, rifle stock/bullpup layout, ultralight pneumatic trigger, modded valve, hammer and bolt... They will retain their VM-ness, but With the right touches here and there, they can break the 13.3 BPS limit on pure semi. |

They are nice, like old Tippmanns, in that they were so overengineered, there is virtually nothing that can fail. Unlike old Tippmanns, they have unlimited ways to modify them. Plus, with the active spyder-modification groups, many of those mods can be applied to VMs, if wanted. (ie pump, electro, etc conversions). The only problem you might encounter is the orings. The VM has to many on the bolt, plus hammer, valve, etc. Those get worn, and cause problems, though easy enough to replace. A handfull of other parts of compatable with other guns. Ie cupseal-cocker, feed-equalizer, barrels-bruizers, etc.
