I have had my VM68 for about 4 years before i even knew what it was cause nobody could ID it as any type of gun however since i have learned what my gun is and the type of heat it can put out i was wondering if a q-loader is a smart and simple upgrade to the traditional angle drop feed

One idea that has been on and off again is to have a custom made feed adapter made for the VM to use a Q-Loader. Remove the old feed block and then put on a more inline direct feed to goes to your loader. I'm still on the fence personally, but I bet there are more than qualified machinists that could pull something off for you at a decent price.

If i were you i would hold off a few months before getting a Qloader set. Ancient Innovation is in transition right now and it's impossible to get in touch with them to get replacement parts. The CEO that use to also do technical support got kick to the curb already, so i would wait to see where they be with their support and life time warranty.

But then you pointed out you could just replace the entire block. Then you would have no choice but to make a new detent anyway. Spring-detents are very easy to fabricate without any special tools, though you would probobly need 2 with the VM to prevent rollback.

Has anyone actually put a Q-Loader on their VM? I've been thinking about getting one for the low profile but I've read mixed reviews on them in general. Just curious if anyone has some first hand experience with them.

I'm pretty sure Chaos has done it. He's done pretty much everything. You should pm him about it. I seem to recall that he's got a Q-loaded green beaut on VMempire.com. Good luck!

Azzy was able to get a 68-Special to run off a QLoader. The hammer is similar (and heavy). Both guns seem to cycle stock around 20cps, which is about 1/2 what you get from a modern blowback
